
Dr. Kassem Saleh, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Software
Dr. Kassem Saleh is a Professor in Information Sciences at Kuwait
University in Kuwait. He received his Ph.D., 1991, M.Sc. 1986, and B.Sc.,
1985, all from the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada. He is also a
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) since 2005.
Kassem worked as a Computer Systems Specialist at Mediatel, Bell
Canada from 1985 to 1991. He was on the faculty of Concordia University in
1991-92, Kuwait University from 1992 to 2000, and the American University
of Sharjah from 2000 to 2007. Dr. Saleh was awarded the best teacher and
the best researcher prize from Kuwait University, and the best researcher
award from AUS, in addition to two best paper awards at international
conferences in Dubai and Boston. He is a senior member of IEEE,
professional member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM),
and a founding member of the Arab Computer Society.
Dr. Saleh published more than 100 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He also
presented many tutorials and invited talks at international conferences and universities worldwide. The
Journal of Systems and Software ranked Dr. Saleh among the top eight scholars in the Field of Systems
and Software Engineering in the last annual assessments published by the journal from 1995 to 2003.
Dr. Saleh provided consultancy services to many companies. His research, teaching and consultancy
interests are in software engineering, information security and e-services.
