CALL FOR PAPERS [PDF] Journal of Networks (JNW, ISSN 1796-2056) Special Issue on Security of Wireless Communication Systems
Wireless communication weaknesses are on the increase due to emergence of advanced services, the need of roaming, and the large deployment of mobile technologies. This has created challenging issues in the security of wireless systems and applications operating in wireless environments.
The objective of the special issue is to seek for the development of new techniques, models and theories that help for a better protection of the mobile and wireless communication systems; assess and enhance the level of security of the current wireless communication systems, services and networks; promote new techniques, such as digital investigation, multimedia protection, risk analysis, and detection and response to incidents, that are able to provide a panoply of security services.
This special issue focuses on the best developments, presented at The Workshop on Wireless Communication Systems (SWCS 2008), that allow building robust wireless services and infrastructures. The workshop objective is to bring together researchers from research and industrial communities contributing to the protection and robustness of wireless networking, mesh networking, cryptosystems, and survivability techniques, with the goal of evolving security techniques for wireless networks. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Security of mesh networks
Security of Wireless Sensor Networks
Intrusion detection and response systems in Wireless Networks
Critical systems based on wireless mobile infrastructures
Cross-layer system design for robustness and security
Formal aspects of wireless security
Threat and vulnerability modeling in wireless networks and systems
Distributed localization and tracking
Attack analysis and digital forensic in wireless networks
Privacy, authentication, and authorization systems in mobile networks
Wireless GRID computing
Security of Mobile multimedia

Submission Guidelines
Submitted papers must be original and not have been previously published or currently submitted for journal publication elsewhere. Papers, which have appeared previously in proceedings of conferences, could be submitted to this special issue if they are substantially revised or improved from their earlier versions. All submitted papers will be refereed on the basis of technical quality, significance, novelty, and clarity. The full paper should ideally not exceed 14 single-space pages of A4, including illustrations and tables. Submissions must be directly sent in PDF format via email to the guest editors Prof. Noureddine Boudriga (nab@supcom.rnu.tn) or Prof. Habtamu Abie (abie@nr.no). Please identify your submission in the email subject line “Submission - JNW Special Issue on SWCS”. Complete guidelines for prospective authors can be found on-line at http://www. academypublisher.com/forauthors.html.
